The healthy, delicious & 100% all-natural plant-based vegan protein nutrition manufacturer explain why digital is best.
Their production pedigree and brand history is second to none and the current family based team are using their 40+ years of combined experience to bring the best products to market in the natural protein space. The global protein market is growing rapidly and is expected to reach USD 21.5 billion by 2025, growing at a CAGR of 6.3% according to a report by Grand View Research.
Alongside their high-quality products comes high quality packaging and the company have been working with digital pioneers CS Labels, whom Manufacturing Director Patrick Mroczak met through his work with well-known brand ‘myprotein’.
Andrew Mansfield, CS Labels Technical Sales Director said: “The team at NutreeLife are forward thinking. Patrick is an early day production guru and a genuine client example of a pioneer in digital print. He isn’t afraid to try new ideas and techniques – which ultimately have added to the financial success of the products he has worked on. “
NutreeLife make their products in a dedicated production facility and have made significant investment into leading edge equipment. They decided to package their products in digital doyen stand up pouches for their protein snacks and protein powders in addition to continuous film for form fill sealing of their protein bars. They chose this style of packaging as it is lightweight, food safe, and would show off the design and brand to its full potential.
The company was able to launch several lines at once within budget due to the benefits that digital printing can offer. Minimum orders are small and similar product lines can be printed in the same run without the need for origination and printing plates.
“As a new company it was important for us to find a packaging supplier who was flexible enough to provide small print runs across a range of products, allowing us to scale quickly and cost-effectively” – Patrick Mroczak – Director
Order quantities for each flavour and type vary by market demand, and the business only order what they need. The lead times are extremely favourable in comparison to conventional printing and this was a game-changer for the business. Customer safety is a priority and CS Labels products offer no migration, ensuring the packaging materials don’t migrate into the bars, powders and cubes.
Aesthetically from a marketing point of view, they also wanted their packaging to offer a good structured form with bright colours that are pleasing to the eye and packaging that has a nice tangible feel.
“We’ve been so pleased with the ease of working with CS Labels. They’ve taken the design concept and produced retail-ready packaging that looks amazing!” – Jade Hodgkinson – Marketing Director.
Patrick Mroczak said: “It was an easy decision choosing the digital packaging route with the help of CS Labels. We wanted packaging that fit with our ethics; high quality, safe and also to look the part; a clean product with clean packaging. I’m pleased to say that CS Labels have delivered on all levels.”
He continued: “I’m reaching out to companies who have preconceptions about digital print and ink migration, whether it’s labels or flexible packaging. If your supplier is well versed in digital print and BRC accredited, you can be sure you have a successful partnership that will serve your market well, and products that you can launch to market in record time.”
“For example, our latest product vegan burger mix, took less than 4 weeks from design concept to a printed, retail-ready product.”
